The author of this website
does not endorse, or agree with all that follows, but offers it in the hope
that we all may have a better understanding of mental illness; if it is even
that, in some cases?
Personally I had a difficult time deciding to add this section, as my
reality regarding mental illness, is one of continuous wondering whether to
put our son in hospital; have medications administered to him when he
refuses his meds; accept that when he appears to be in another reality, as
opposed to my own, that his reality does have some validity (truth); that
what he says about drugs affecting his thinking is also valid; but
what am I to do?
This
question mark section of the Mental Illness
Family
Resource site gives a
different perspective of mental illness. My hope is that this section of the
website educates, gives people dealing with a mental illness the ability to
make informed choices, and a different view of mental illness.
The
“?” section is not for the faint of heart, as it deals with what
we perceive as mental illness, our reality, and what the so called
mentally ill person perceives as their reality.
